Racism against Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais: a report will be made to the prosecutor, announces Othman Nasrou

Words that will not remain without consequences. A report will be made to the public prosecutor after Sabah Aib, Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais, suffered a “wave of racist hatred”, announced this Friday, October 25, Othman Nasrou, Secretary of State responsible for Citizenship and the Fight against Discrimination.

In a message shared on surge of racist hatred” suffered by the 18-year-old young woman.

“These attacks are only a reflection of ignorance and jealousy”

The law student revealed Wednesday evening on her Instagram account that she was “facing a wave of racist hatred on social networks due to (ses) origins”. “These attacks are only a reflection of ignorance and jealousy,” wrote the woman who hopes to succeed Ève Gilles, the current Miss France, also from the region.

This wave of hatred comes as Sabah Aib, Miss Villeneuve-d’Ascq, was designated Saturday evening in Liévin (Pas-de-Calais) to represent her region during the competition for the crown of Miss France 2025 which will take place live December 14 on TF1. “My name is part of my identity and it has nothing to do with my nationality. France is a multicultural country and having a name that comes from elsewhere does not change the fact that I am French,” she replied in a long message shared on her Instagram account.

“My election is proof that our region is rich in diversity and values, and I am proud to represent it. Hatred has no place in our society and I will continue to wear this title with pride, determination and respect for all. We are all equal, no matter our name or our origins,” she concluded.
