Paraná Clube Board asks creditors for a vote of confidence

Rubens Ferreira Silva and Ailton Barboza de Souza, current and future president of Paraná Club for the three-year period 2025-2027, respectively, spoke in a video this Friday (25).

The video is intended to reassure and ask for support from creditors who will participate in another general meeting on Monday, October 28th, which will define the deadlines for debt payments. In total, there are 492 creditors, in an update made at the end of August, and the club’s debts reach R$130 million.

“I ask you to believe in the current board and in the next management as well. We took over the club at the worst moment of its existence. I want to make it clear to everyone that we will make every effort and that, next Monday, effectively, the creditors understand which It’s the club’s situation and what they can do to us, because that wouldn’t be good for anyone, not for the club or for the creditors”, said Rubão.

“We are coming to give you satisfaction. We would like to make it clear that, at no time, as president-elect, did I give an interview claiming that we were going to buy Vila Capanema, or any other investment, other than what is our objective today , which is solely and exclusively to comply with the judicial recovery plan”, stated Barboza.

“Our commitment today is to meet what determines us and which is attention to our creditors. But in order for us to be able to meet these demands, we need the club to be active, that is, the main activity which is football To achieve this, we count on everyone’s understanding that there is a need for us to comply with the recovery plan, meet what the creditors demand from the club and also be able to clarify that nothing has happened at the moment, in relation to the debts. of the club, has happened in this administration. This liability comes from another administration”, added the future president and current vice president.

Creditors asked for judicial intervention in Paraná and clarification on Carlos Werner’s influence

This week, Tricolor’s creditors’ committee filed a request for judicial intervention in Paraná after the proposal from a group of investors Centro Universitário Santa Cruz, worth R$350 million was removed.

Creditors were counting on the sale of Paranista SAF this month. The proposal from the group linked to Centro Universitário Santa Cruz already included paying off the club’s debt of more than R$100 million.

However, Paraná did not approve the group’s proposals, as it prioritized more investment in football. As a result, investors gave up and withdrew the proposal. Two other groups that expressed interest in purchasing the Paranista SAF did not make a binding proposal.

In the request for “urgent” judicial intervention, the creditors accuse Paraná of ​​”failing to fulfill its obligations”, classifying the board as “missing” and highlighting that the club is unable to pay its debts without the sale of SAF or from Kennedy Headquarters.

Furthermore, a creditor filed a petition, on Thursday (24), summoning businessman Carlos Werner to legally explain his participation in Tricolor. Without a defined position on the board and without being a member of the club’s councils, Werner was already classified as a “patron” of Tricolor and returned to helping Paraná this season.

In the document, lawyer Jorge Augusto Derviche Casagrande points out Carlos Werner as a “hidden partner” of Paraná and who has the power to authorize or not authorize proposals for the purchase of the club’s SAF. Which could have influenced the group’s departure from college among those interested.
