Israeli retaliation hits targeted targets in Iran

Israel began and ended its retaliation against Iran in response to the massive ballistic missile attack on October 1. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in a bunker at the Kirya military base in Tel Aviv during the attack in Iran. An image shared by Netanyahu’s office shows him sitting next to Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and other officials. According to what was revealed to the Washington Post by an anonymous senior Israeli official, Tel Aviv’s targets include military assets, including missile production plants and air defense sites, specifying that the attacks are not aimed at oil production or Iranian nuclear research sites, targets that could quickly lead to an escalation between the two countries. We spoke to Nicola Pedde, Middle East expert and director general of the Institute for Global Studies to better understand the extent of the attack.
