Against Macron: the Paris court accepted the Israeli companies’ petition
The Commercial Court in Paris today (Wednesday) accepted the petition of the Israeli companies and annulled the decision of French President Emmanuel Macron to ban them from participating in the “Euronavel”, the maritime defense exhibition, which will be held in the city Between November 4-7.Dr. Ron Tomer, President of the Association of Manufacturers, welcomed the decision of the court in France: “No government or organizing body will stop us, and as many attempts as these are made in the future, we will make it clear to everyone that MADE IN ISRAEL will continue to be proudly displayed at international exhibitions and conferences.”

Eitan Zucker, CEO of Israel Shipyards, added that “despite the positive decision, the arms embargo and security embargoes on Israel oblige the decision makers to rely on the strategic capabilities of the local military industries, especially with regard to central platforms.” The Israel Shipyards Company will set up its own pavilion at the exhibition

The petition submitted through the French law firm GKA claimed that the decision goes against the principles of equality and fair trade binding on EU countries.

In the prestigious exhibition that has been held for more than 50 years, 300 international companies from 30 countries are expected to participate. Other countries that send representatives are the USA, Germany, Brazil, Finland, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Colombia, Denmark and Greece.

At the beginning of October, Macron called in an interview with a French radio station to stop providing arms shipments to Israel for the fighting in the Gaza Strip. “I think today the priority is to return to a political solution and to stop supplying weapons to conduct the battles in Gaza,” he said in an interview with France Enter Radio. “France does not supply weapons to Israel, Lebanon cannot become a new Gaza.”
