Yerevan’s participation in the COP 29 summit is not confirmed, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced during the budget discussion in the parliament.
The COP29 summit will be held in Baku in November, to which Azerbaijan has also invited Armenia.
COP29 is the session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Last December, as a goodwill gesture, Armenia expressed its support for Azerbaijan’s bid to host it and withdrew its candidacy, and Azerbaijan expressed its support for Armenia’s candidacy for membership in the Bureau of the Eastern European Group “COP”.
