At FC Hansa Rostock, a founding member of the “Suptras” fan group has been elected as the new head of the supervisory board. 43-year-old Sebastian Eggert moves to the top of the control committee after five supervisory board members resigned at the beginning of the week because of the attack on a train with supporters of Hansa’s youngest opponent Rot-Weiss Essen and because of massive insults during the game. The third division soccer team informed its members about Eggert’s election on Wednesday evening in a letter.
Eggert has been a Hansa member since 2003 and has been a member of the supervisory board since 2016. In recent years he has also repeatedly led the organized fans at home games in the stadium.
After the resignation of long-time supervisory board members Rainer Lemmer, Christian Stapel, Henryk Bogdanow, Frank Schollenberger and Immanuel Fuhrmann, Eggert and his new deputy Martin Ohde were the only members remaining on the supervisory board. Two replacement members, Anne Schäfer and Sven Moschner, have been appointed in the last few days, so that, according to the club, the supervisory board is able to work and make decisions again and can, for example, approve the appointment of a new coach.
FC Hansa has scheduled an extraordinary general meeting for November 24th, at which three additional supervisory board members and a maximum of four replacement members will be elected.
