The local government center demands that budget cuts for the construction of schools and kindergartens be cancelled.

The local government center appealed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich demanding that they refuse budget cuts for the construction of additional classes and kindergartens in various localities of the country.

Representatives of municipalities and local councils emphasize that construction has virtually stopped due to rising prices for building materials and a shortage of qualified personnel, while in most populated areas of the country existing educational institutions are overloaded.

Local authorities say the education system is in crisis and further delays in the construction of new schools and kindergartens will jeopardize the ability to start the next school year on time.
