Booking and Airbnb will be required to notify the tax office about Israeli apartment owners

One of the sections of the government regulation law prepared by the Internal Revenue Service, which has a good chance of passing all the approval procedures, is aimed at combating tax evasion in short-term rental housing.

The bill proposes to oblige international rental brokerage platforms to report annually to the Tax Authority on Israeli landlords (no information on tenants will be shared).

In case of refusal to cooperate, the law provides for large monetary fines.

It should be noted that in recent years, similar laws have been adopted by other developed economies.
