Modrić after Real’s defeat: ‘It is difficult to comment on our game’

Real Madrid on Tuesday lost to Milan 3-1. It was the second defeat of the “Kings” in this season’s Champions League, which further deepened suspicions that something is seriously “not right” in the most expensive team in the world. The captain of the club announced the new setback Luka Modrić (39), who started the game and left the game in the 63rd minute.

– Another disappointing evening for us, it is difficult to comment on the game. There were moments where we were good, but this was not our best performance. We didn’t play well and Milan were better. The problem is not only in one part of the team, but in the whole game – said Luka for UEFA and added:

– We have to be better as a team, more united on the field and try to find solutions because right now we look like we are divided. I mean it in the sense that we are too far from each other. We must return to what has been our greatest strength all these years.

Real Madrid is currently ranked 17th in the Champions League, which puts them in the group of clubs that will not have the status of holders in the knockout phase. The situation is no better even in the championship, where it is Barcelona “blurred” to a nine-point lead. Nevertheless, Modrić believes that it is not a crisis and that the situation will fall into place with a little patience.

– I am sure that we will be better, but it takes time. We won only six points, and we have difficult games ahead of us. We must stick together and try to correct what we are doing wrong. This is not a crisis. That is the wordč which I don’t like to talk about. I’ve been here for 12 years and it’s not the first time I’ve seen a situation like this. Quality alone is not enough, we have to work more like our team, then everything is easier. I am convinced that we will rise – concluded Luka.
