Acer unveils strategies and innovations with cutting-edge features for the new lineup

Gianluca D’Angelo, Head of Consumer Sales & Distribution of Acer Italiapredicts that 2025 could be a particularly receptive year for the ICT market: “2024 was a difficult year for the IT world, with a 25% decrease in market value compared to 2022. Despite the global decline, Acer maintained the same turnover as in 2022. For 2025, we expect an increase in sales and a higher ranking for two reasons. First, the life cycle of IT products (4-5 years) will likely result in a replacement of devices purchased during the pandemic. Second, the growing integration of AI into PCs, whether for Windows with Copilot Plus or Google with Gemini, will create value and a paradigm shift for 2025.”

The launch of the new Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714 is part of the desire to offer an innovative product that stands out for its advanced capabilities, integrated with Google’s artificial intelligence. This convertible device combines a durable aluminum body with security features like an optional fingerprint reader, making it ideal for both work and personal use. With the addition of a long-lasting battery with fast charging, the Chromebook Plus Spin 714 is designed to deliver a superior user experience, thanks in part to recent ChromeOS updates that introduce new AI-powered features. Confirming Acer’s commitment to continuous innovation, several Acer Chromebook Plus models will receive a major update, which will allow users to benefit from new features implemented by Google. These updates aim to improve usability and accessibility, introducing options such as “Help me read” which, through Gemini, offers a summary of the written content with follow-up questions, and “Live translation” which enables subtitles translated from Google’s AI for audio and video. Additionally, the “Chat with Gemini” app will be available for free with the Google One Premium plan to Google Plus customers for 12 months, offering three months of access to other Chromebook users as well. These updates represent just some of the examples of the evolution of ChromeOS, which sees some improvements specific to Chromebook Plus models and others intended for all Chromebook devices.

Likewise, Acer has significantly expanded its laptop offerings by incorporating advanced artificial intelligence to improve user experience and increase productivity. The Acer Swift and Nitro series represent Acer’s technological forefront, offering an unprecedented fusion of design, performance and intelligent functionality. Acer’s strategy itself also accepted the indications that arose from the real needs of users in the pandemic and post-pandemic period, transforming and expanding.

Valerie Piau, VP Marketing & New Business, Acer EMEA, thus outlines the challenges of the future: “During the post-pandemic period we saw the need to further expand our offer, therefore having products such as monitors for people who work from home, or keyboards, headsets or webcams, so we developed more products in the world of accessories. And on the PC side we saw a need for a lighter, more refined PC, for those who move from home to work every day or for those who work from home with different needs in terms of webcam and screen with OLED resolution. On the new business part which represents 25% of our revenue we want to continue developing new products so we will focus on three quite important areas. The first is the mobility part with scooters, then the second part is the connectivity part and we will continue to develop products in the gaming sector. Gaming, where we have a good market share, we will reinforce the message on the Predator brand. On the consumer side, however, we want to strengthen our presence on the premium side with the Swift and AI PC products.”

In fact, the Acer Swift series, including the Swift 14 AI and Swift 16 AI models, has been updated with the latest AMD and Intel processors that integrate powerful neural processing units (NPUs). These laptops are designed to handle complex AI operations efficiently, thereby enhancing machine learning capabilities and data processing.

In parallel, the Nitro series, aimed mainly at gamers and tech enthusiasts, saw the introduction of the new Nitro V 14 AI and Nitro V 16 AI, which perfectly balance gaming needs and productivity features. The Nitro V 14 AI is a laptop that blends elegant design with powerful performance thanks to Ryzen AI technology and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU. The combination of advanced hardware and intelligent software features, such as support for NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 technology, makes This laptop is an excellent choice for gamers looking for quality and responsiveness. The Nitro V 16 AI features a larger display and 14th generation Intel Core processors, offering an optimal solution for those who want a device capable of supporting both intensive gaming and the heavy workloads typical of creative professionals.
