Golf legend Bernhard Langer won the season-ending PGA Tour Champions in Phoenix, continuing an impressive series. Thanks to his success in Arizona, the 67-year-old won a tournament on the senior tour for the 18th year in a row. This year’s victory is particularly impressive since Langer tore his Achilles tendon off the golf course just eight months ago.
“It’s unbelievable, I can’t describe it. “To win this tournament after everything I’ve been through and then to make it 18 years in a row,” said Langer after his triumph. The two-time Masters winner emphasized that he had always struggled at the Phoenix County Club in the past. “But as far as punching goes, it was one of the best weeks of my life,” said Langer.
For the Anhausen native it was his 47th senior tournament victory. He also further extended his record as the oldest tournament winner.
