Rimac Technology announced on Monday that they have entered into a partnership with the first Saudi electric car brand Ceer, for which they will produce high-efficiency, fully integrated electric drive systems for the upcoming series of electric vehicles. The company states that they will produce the drives in their plant in Zagreb on a completely new, automated production line.
– We are pleased to be the first company and major project in the area of the Gulf countries that will cooperate with Rimac Technology in equipping Ceer model vehicles with the most advanced electric drive systems. Rimac’s global reputation and expertise in designing electric powertrains fits perfectly with our strategic goals of partnering with global leaders in delivering high-end electric vehicles and revolutionizing the automotive industry in Saudi Arabia – said James DeLuca, CEO of Ceero.
Partnership with Ceera, which is supported by Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (Foxconn), is a sign of the further development of Rimac Technology’s business from the production of high-performance technology in limited quantities – including projects such as Rimac Nevera, Pininfarina Battista, Aston Martin Valkyrie and Koenigsegg Regera – to large-scale projects, such as partnerships with Porsche, BMW and this one for Ceer, according to Rimac.
Earlier this year, Rimac Technology announced cooperation with the BMW Group for the development and production of battery systems for future BMW models, and they also signed contracts for additional projects with European car manufacturers. The latest collaboration with Ceera represents a further increase in Rimac Technology’s production scope, with a focus on electric drive systems.
Mate Rimac, founderč and chief executive officer of Rimac Technology, said: “Cooperation with Ceera further fulfills Rimac Technology’s global ambitions in the field of electrification. This year alone, we announced several key partnerships, including cooperation with the BMW Group and Ceera, which will result in the production of tens of thousands of electric drive and battery systems for the world’s leading manufacturers. . With more exciting projects in preparation, we have strategically invested in our production facilities in Croatia, including the Rimac Campus and the accompanying infrastructure, which will soon be operating at full capacity.”
The two partners will announce more details about the partnership and its scope at a later stage.
