The semiconductor giant Nvidia this Tuesday surpassed Apple as the most valuable company in the world, in the midst of the artificial intelligence (AI) boom that moves Wall Street.

Nvidia shares rose 2.9% to $139.93 per share, bringing its market capitalization to $3.43 trillion, ahead of Apple’s $3.38 trillion.

Nvidia is currently worth more than Amazon and Meta combined.

The world’s leading technology companies have invested billions of dollars in Nvidia’s powerful AI technology, central to training generative AI systems such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, or Google’s Gemini.

Nvidia will join the Dow Jones Industrial Average on Friday, in another example of the dazzling rise of a company whose stock market value has grown more than 850% since the end of 2022, when ChatGPT unleashed the AI ​​boom.
