Coalition talks: Brandenburg: SPD and BSW are making progress

The SPD and BSW see themselves on the right track in their coalition negotiations in Brandenburg, despite hurdles. “Everything is moving forward,” said SPD General Secretary David Kolesnyk to the German Press Agency. But there is still “a lot of work ahead of us”. BSW country manager Robert Crumbach was also confident. “Everything will be easily solved.” He admitted: “Financing is not that easy.”

Pancakes to start the carnival

The SPD and BSW have been negotiating a possible coalition for a week. The talks are taking place under the auspices of lower tax revenues than previously expected. Both parties want, among other things, to maintain the hospital locations, reduce bureaucracy and work for a diplomatic solution to the Ukraine conflict at the federal and EU levels.

The goal is to complete the coalition negotiations before Christmas if possible. To start the carnival season there were pancakes with eggnog on Monday.

Calm reaction to Pistorius

The SPD and BSW reacted calmly to the warning from SPD Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) against working with the BSW. Kolesnyk said he saw no differences in the exploratory paper from the federal level. Crumbach said: “We are dealing with the SPD in Brandenburg.”
