Urban pop, flamenco or feminist messages among the proposals of the 16 songs of the Benidorm Fest 2025

Melody, Sonia and Selena, Chica Suralto, David Afonso, Henry Semler, Carla Frigo and Celine Van Heel, among the 16 official participants

The 16 artists who will participate in the Benidorm Fest 2025 have presented this Tuesday their proposals for the festival, in which you can find styles such as urban pop and feminist messages such as in the song ‘Mala feminist’ by Chica Sobresalto, one of the participants and Former Operación Triunfo contestant.

“Call for all of us to help build a community free of those hateful comments, of the ‘hate’ that we read many times on social networks. Logically we are open to criticism, but let it be constructive. All of us who love Benidorm Fest, let’s do our bit so that the artists are cared for, they are treated as they deserve and when we see that there are comments that cross certain lines, we will sweep them away and put them aside,” the director of Communication and Participation said in the presentation. from RTVE, María Eizaguirre.

As reported by RTVE, Carla Frigo’s proposal, ‘Bésame’, is soft and daring. With influences from trap and reggaeton, the song by the Barcelona-born tiktoker talks about love, freedom and one’s own identity. Likewise, the artist Celine Van Heel presents ‘The House’, a song in which she also explores love, but love sickness and, above all, “her liberation as the powerful woman that I am. I say goodbye to someone.”

On the other hand, Chica Sobresalto signs ‘Bad Feminist’ which, in the words of its author, “speaks about guilt and dedicates itself to the women who put obstacles in our way and, on top of that, demand that we be empowered.”

‘Reinas’ is the comeback hit of the duo of Sonia and Selena, who return to the stage 23 years after ‘Yo Quiero Bailar’ with a Latin pop song.

She participates again in the Melody contest with ‘Esa diva’ and she does so 16 years after doing so with ‘Amante de la luna’ in ‘Eurovision 2009: The return’, a program in which she finished in second position, only behind the winner and representative in Moscow, Soraya Arnelas.

The public Corporation has indicated that Blanca Daniela Blasco will sing ‘Uh nana’. It is “an anthem, a very danceable meaning that people can enjoy,” as described by the artist herself, who has continued to assure that it is “very explosive.”

‘Amor cheap’ is David Alfonso’s proposal in which he mixes Latin rhythms with other styles, while the artist Deteresa will compete with ‘La pena’, a song in which she mixes tradition and modernity thanks to her experience in musical theater,

Another of the participants announced by RTVE is Henry Semler with ‘You don’t see it’. Although he grew up in the Mediterranean, Semler was born in the United States and in that sense he combines his North American influences with his compositions in Spanish, creating a sound that fuses Anglo-Saxon references with lyrics in Spanish.

Also competing with urban references is J Kbello, who appears at Benidorm Fest 2025 with ‘VIP’, a song in which he talks about love at first sight.

For its part, the band formed by Ane Rada, Iván Ramírez and Jorge Gomis, K!NGDOM, present ‘Me gustas tú’, a song that responds to their style characterized by the integration of synthesizers and an energy that “captures everyone.” who listens to them.”

Another electronic pop proposal is Kuve’s ‘Loca por ti’, produced and composed by herself, in which she talks about “true love, the necessary one, the one that cares.”

The Benidorm Fest will have flamenco bets like Lachispa’s, ‘Hartita de Cry’. The artist caught the attention of Rosalía, who added her to her team of backup singers, giving her the opportunity to accompany her on stages such as the Latin Grammys in Las Vegas, as well as in cities such as New York and Miami.

Also in line with traditional folklore and flamenco is ‘I write to you in heaven’ by Lucas Bun, who will combine elements of electronica, folklore, refined melodic song, trip-hop, alternative r&b, flamenco and avant-garde pop.

Finally, Mawot will participate with ‘Rayo di sole’, a song in which he talks about the inner child and in which he projects his dreams, while Mel Ömana will sing ‘I’m the queen’ at the Benidorm Fest 2025.
