A new missile attack on Kyiv! People in shelters, alarms and explosions resound through the city

Eyewitnesses reported to Reuters about the explosions in Kiev on Wednesday, after the Ukrainian Air Force declared a nationwide airstrike alert following the launch of large-scale Russian missile attacks.

In the first missile attack in more than two months, Russia used cruise missiles launched from strategic aircraft as well as ballistic missiles, according to the Ukrainian military.

“Explosions in the city. Air defense works. Stay in the shelters!” announced the Kyiv city administration through the Telegram application.

Authorities have so far not reported any casualties or damage.

On August 26, Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 200 drones and missiles, killing seven people and damaging energy facilities across the country. That attack, according to Kiev, represented the “most massive attack” during the war.
