Ulm basketball players lose to EuroCup leaders

Basketball Bundesliga team ratiopharm Ulm suffered a home defeat for the first time this season. After a tough fight, the Swabians lost in the EuroCup against the top team from Bahcesehir Istanbul with 72:80 (36:41). For Ulm it was the fourth defeat in the eighth game in the competition. The best throwers were Alfonso Plummer with 18 and Justinian Jessup with 13 points.

In the first ever meeting between the two opponents, Ulm got into the game well thanks to strong rebound work. The guests adjusted better over the course of the first two quarters, were now much more physical under the basket and no longer allowed the Bundesliga team as much. Accordingly, the Turks, who have only lost once in the EuroCup, were able to take the lead shortly before the break.

Coach Ty Harrelson’s team still remained dangerous in attack and had advantages in offensive rebounds. The resulting and used second chances kept the game open. The Swabians tried everything and fought doggedly. But the leaders of Group A always had the right answer. In addition, Ulm also lacked the necessary luck in throwing. As a result, the home team was no longer able to turn the game around.
