Gerardo Sánchez, director of ‘Días de Cine’, and ‘Cine de Barrio’, Spanish Cinema Research Awards

FlixOlé and the Rey Juan Carlos University have announced this Wednesday the winners of the III edition of the Spanish Cinema Research Awards, which will be held on November 25. Two of the awards have gone to professionals and RTVE programs.

On the one hand, Gerardo Sánchez, director of ‘Días de Cine’, has been awarded for his Professional Career; while the award for Best Television Program went to ‘Cine de Barrio’.

Gerardo Sánchez has been awarded in the field of Communication, a journalist for whom, as the ruling states, “his life is cinema and cinema is his life”, as demonstrated in his recently published ‘Memories of a mangy cinephile’. With more than 30,000 films viewed and shared, he will receive the statuette for Professional Career.

The awards also recognize cultural spaces that contribute to the dissemination of Spanish cinema and, this year, they make special recognition to ‘Cine de Barrio’, directed by Machús Osinaga and presented by Inés Ballester. The program, which is broadcast on Saturday afternoons on La 1, will receive the award for Best Television Program.

Other winners of this edition have been the journalist María Sanz; the historian Carlos F. Heredero; the director, screenwriter and writer, Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón; the podcast ‘El Cine en La SER’, directed by Pepa Blanes; the Interior Berlanga exhibition space. Cinema, life and humor from CaixaForum; to the documentary Summers, the rebel, by Miguel Olid. The best final degree projects, master’s final projects, doctoral thesis and scientific article have also been awarded.
