Fratelli d’Italia offers a 1500 euro voucher for private schools

Starting from financial year 2025, to families with ISEE income not exceeding €40,000.00 a voucher is recognized, which can only be spent at one private school, for a maximum annual amount of euros 1,500 for each student attending a private primary or secondary school or the first two years of a private secondary school. This is provided for in an amendment to the budget law presented by FdI, first signed by Lorenzo Malagola.

The actual amount of the voucher for each student is calculated on the basis of brackets inversely proportional to the ISEE income and within the limits of a total loan of €65 million per year. In the expenditure forecast of the Ministry of Education and Merit, a fund dedicated to the interventions of this paragraph is established, equal to 16.25 million for the year 2025, 65 million for the year 2026, 65 million for year 2027.

The response was immediate unions. “While the budget law cuts public schools, the one that the State should guarantee to everyone, the majority of the Government proposes a bonus of 1500 euros for attending private schools. So there is no money for the renewal of teachers’ contracts, 8 thousand positions are being cut between teaching staff and ATA, temporary workers are not hired for all available positionsbut the resources for the private system are found. It is a Government that has thrown away its mask and knowingly works against public schools, trampling on the Constitution. A further reason to join the mobilization initiatives and the general strike of 29 November”. This was declared by Gianna Fracassi, general secretary of the FLC CGIL.
