Also speaking at the rally, in support of the presidential candidate Donatella Tesei, were the two vice prime ministers and leaders of Lega and Forza Italia, Matteo Salvini and Antonio Tajani, as well as the leader of Noi Moderati, Maurizio Lupi, and the leader of Alternativa Popolare, Stefano Bandecchi.

“Once upon a time – said Tajani – the communist party was the workers’ party, now they are no longer so because the workers vote for the centre-right. They have also broken trade union unity, now the only ones going on strike are two unions, the others don’t do it because they know the work the government does. To workers who don’t feel represented by fundamentalist unions, I repeat fundamentalists, we must say that we are there.”
