The High Court proposed a compromise on subsidies for nurseries, giving those subject to conscription “Haredi” another 3 months

The High Court of Justice criticized the position of Labor Minister Yoav Ben-Tzur, who is delaying the publication of criteria for eligibility for subsidized nurseries, which makes it impossible for 74 thousand families to receive subsidies.

At the same time, the judges of the High Court did not make a decision on the claim, proposing a compromise, within the framework of which the Minister of Labor would publish the necessary criteria within a month, taking into account the expert position of the government’s legal adviser, Gali Baarav-Miara, prohibiting the subsidization of nurseries for ultra-Orthodox families in which the husband is subject to conscription urgent service.

At the same time, the transition period during which these families will be able to receive subsidized nurseries will be extended from three months to six months.

Let us recall that the Naamat and Vitso organizations, which filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court against the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Finance, claim that Ben-Tzur took parents hostage in order to achieve the lifting of the ban on subsidizing nurseries for Haredi families subject to conscription.
