New jazz club “Nica” in Hamburg

A new live club, “Nica”, has opened in the middle of Hamburg. This should interest anyone who can no longer stand all the clinically dead inner cities. About an important culture clash.

Prejudices are persistent. Especially in the music business, their half-life is at least as long as the wall of ignorance around them. Hard & Heavy: all well-behaved habit wearers. Opera & classical music: saturated retirees. Techno & House: sometimes young, sometimes shockingly old pill-throwers in daylight. Or the safest bank in the strongbox of well-guarded prejudices: jazz. Many people probably still place them in cellar vaults without oxygen, daylight or happiness, which are instead filled with black-clad existentialists with fags and – if you want to use the very broad brush – turtlenecks.
