Until a few days ago, the derby was between the mayor of Naples and the mayor of Turin, Stefano Lo Russo, the latter capable of attracting the favor of centre-right mayors and those who argue that at a time when he discusses autonomy, it would have been desirable to keep the leadership of the municipalities in the north. Secretary Elly Schlein, who has been called into question several times to find a unified name, has never expressed herself directly on the issue, but negotiations in the Democratic corridors have been going on for weeks.
