In the accounts of Sébastien, conductor: “For a private evening, I have already received 10,000 euros”

48-year-old Sébastien Giacomi’s first memory of being a conductor dates back far back to his childhood. “A music teacher no longer wanted to teach us because of a noisy class,” he remembers. In front of his comrades, at the age of 12, he took his place and directed the budding musicians. “I felt in my element, it was natural,” he recalls. For him, “conductor, it has to be in us, it’s a vocation. »

His first conducting as a professional came very early, at the age of 18. The ensemble then performed Mozart’s Symphony No.25, a work that he subsequently conducted numerous times in his career.
