Mister Menuiserie, a brand specializing in aluminum doors, windows and gates, was placed in receivership by the Rouen commercial court on November 12, leaving orders on hold and several dozen customers worried about losing their money . Based near Vernon (Eure), the group declared itself in cessation of payments on November 8, against a backdrop of significant debts, according to the court judgment consulted on Wednesday by AFP.
Mister Menuiserie has more than 100 points of sale, more than 300 employees and achieved nearly 72 million euros in turnover in 2023. A growing number of consumers, concerned about delivery delays and fearing losing their payments anticipated, joined a Facebook group (Meta) since Saturday. It had 130 members on Wednesday at 4 p.m., including several dozen who clearly expressed their dismay.
“5,900 euros of materials that we are waiting for, it’s shameful,” posted Mélissa Sguaita-Matti, who created the forum. She and her partner bought a gate and a fence at the Quimper store of Mister Menuiserie, without a deposit. “I have the impression of having been betrayed and taken for a ride since May,” she told AFP. “Where is our money? », writes another member of the Facebook group, who says he placed an order at the end of August for 18,600 euros for a pergola “still not manufactured”.
Consumers can send a declaration of debt to the designated legal representative
Contacted on Wednesday by AFP, the Mister Menuiserie group did not react immediately. To try to obtain reimbursement or compensation, consumers can send a declaration of debt to the legal representative designated by the commercial court. Beyond customer receivables, there are also supplier receivables, which are often much larger. “We are waiting to know what happens next on this matter,” comments a French supplier interviewed by AFP and who did not wish to be identified.
This SME declares that it has “several tens of thousands of euros of unpaid debts since June” from Mister Menuiserie and hopes that a potential buyer will endeavor to “renegotiate debts with suppliers”. Interested buyers will have until November 25 to submit their offer, according to the Echos website dedicated to company takeovers.
In an email to customers who have made follow-up requests consulted by AFP, Mister Menuiserie specifies that these will be processed “after the possible resumption” of the company which must be decided by December 20, 2024.
