Vietnam Airlines Group increases 650,000 seats to serve Lunar New Year

Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and VASCO provide more than 650,000 additional seats, equivalent to more than 3,000 flights on Vietnam domestic routes in the period from January 13 to February 12, 2025.

This flight increase will increase the total number of seats on Vietnam Airlines Group’s domestic flight network to more than 2.15 million seats, equivalent to more than 11,000 flights.

Increased flights focus on routes serving the needs of reunion homes and spring travel during Tet such as between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Vinh; between Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, Hai Phong, Hue, Thanh Hoa, Quy Nhon, Pleiku, Chu Lai, Dong Hoi, Vinh…

According to airline records, many flights during the Lunar New Year currently have a seat occupancy rate of 70% – 80%, focusing on flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Northern and Central provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Quy Nhon, Chu Lai, Dong Hoi… The number of visitors is forecast to continue to increase sharply next month.

Vietnam Airlines Group also plans to lease four more Airbus A320/A321 aircraft, including two wet-leased aircraft (including flight crew) to serve the Tet peak. Each aircraft is expected to operate 180 flights on this occasion.

Previously, since September, Vietnam Airlines Group has opened sales of nearly 1.5 million seats across its domestic flight network for Tet to serve passengers’ need to buy tickets early. The airline also launched a flat ticket price program for Tet At Ty 2025 from only 666,000 VND one-way for Economy class and 1,868 million VND one-way for Business class (prices include taxes and fees). This is a preferential program for passengers who are planning to travel during the Lunar New Year.

To conveniently travel and have the desired schedule, Vietnam Airlines Group encourages passengers to proactively plan, book seats and buy tickets early. At the same time, to avoid buying fake tickets or overpriced tickets during the peak Tet holiday, the company recommends that customers buy tickets on the website, mobile application, box office, official agent and request an invoice.
