Grillo’s challenge: "And rave". Conte: "Ready, but no to boycotts"

The silence, then the Beppe Grillo’s blaze. So the response from Giuseppe Conte. The day after the constituent assembly of M5s comes to life in the late afternoon. Grillo doesn’t speak directly, but the indiscretion goes around the sites within a few minutes. This time the co-founder of the Movement manifests himself through stamped papers. Not the usual, cryptic, message in a bottle delivered via the Blog. Not even a WhatsApp ‘status’ with a ‘religious’ background, like the one that occurred during the performance of ‘Nova’ yesterday. This time Grillo gives news, confirmed by M5s sources and his entourage. The Guarantor moved the first pawn on the board and officially forwarded it to the Five Star Movement request for re-voting of the constituent assembly. One above all: the one that eliminates its role.

Conte responds shortly. He does so with a post on social media, in which he takes up the co-founder’s challenge. The former prime minister talks about “an extreme attempt at sabotage”initiated by invoking a “feudal clause.” Grillo – writes the leader of the M5s – “has gone from direct democracy to ‘I’m in charge here'”. And again: “We could contest this old clause, a legacy of the past, and win a legal dispute with our good reasons. But we have to deal with the real country, to which we in the Movement want to offer solutions and battles to win, not whims and personal squabbles of the founder, I therefore leave the role of the troubleshooter to Grillo.”

Then the gauntlet: “We still and always prefer democracy, participation, your freedom of choice. For this reason, give us a few days, and we will go back to voting on the internet for the questions on the Statute contested by Grillo. Forward, again, together “. In a few days, therefore, the second round will take place based on the quorum. With ‘Elevato’ who could personalize the conflict even more, openly inviting activists to desert the consultation, with the aim of thus nullifying the threshold of the absolute majority, necessary to validate the vote.

A move, that of Grillo, which had been somehow anticipated by some ‘grillini’ during the day. Former minister Danilo Toninelli made himself heard, in his usual space on Radio Cusano Campus. The historic face of the M5s had invited those “disappointed by this massacre not to unsubscribe, because when the vote is redone, your registration will create a quorum, it will make up the number”. “The lion is wounded, obviously, but he also has many other paws to give. 30% of those who voted against the elimination of the guarantor will no longer vote”, added Toninelli, referring to Grillo.

Finally the most vibrant thrust: “The owner of the symbol is Beppe Grillo and he will take legal action. He will challenge everything, everything will be suspended and consequently Conte will be forced to form his party, the small rib of the Democratic Party, to satisfy the ‘appetite for a dozen people who want the fourth and fifth mandate. They will be able to bury in a dignified manner a glorious history that has instead been tarnished by an infamous human being.’ But the first to ‘prophesy’ Grillo’s coup was the former deputy Marco Bella, in the front row among the anti-Conte protesters on Saturday, during the opening of the ‘Nova’ meeting.

“There is no quorum on the Statute”, Bella’s belief. “If we take the question ‘eliminate the role of the guarantor’ as an example – the reasoning of the former parliamentarian – there are only 54,452. Quorum reached of around 10,000 votes? Attention: no. The votes in favor of eliminating the Guarantor, i.e. Beppe Grillo, the person who founded the movement and allowed all these guys to occupy their comfortable seats, there are only 34,438. In short, if the quorum it was only achieved thanks to the 15,840 who voted no and the 4,174 who abstained and were counted in the quorum. If half had not participated in the vote, there would have been no quorum.” After a few hours, Grillo made his first move. Which might not be the last.
