The mechanism for calculating parking fees in parking lots has been changed in Israel

The Knesset, with 33 votes, with no abstentions or votes against, approved in the final reading the bill of Naama Lazimi (Labor) on changing the mechanism for calculating parking fees in car parks.

According to the new rules, the unit for calculating parking fees will be a minute, starting from the first hour of parking, and not a quarter of an hour from the second hour of parking, as before.

In this case, the Minister of the Interior will have the right, with the consent of the Minister of Transport and the Knesset Economic Committee, to exempt from the law parking lots that charge a parking fee below the amount that will be established in the relevant regulations.
