New defeat for Bologna in the Champions League. Lille wins 2-1

Still nothing to do in the Champions League for Bologna, who are also beaten at home by Lille on the fifth matchday. At the Dall’Ara it ends 2-1 for the French thanks to Mukau’s brace, while Lucumì’s first ever goal for the rossoblu in Europe was in vain. Vincenzo Italiano’s team probably misses the last chance for the playoffs, recovering the fourth defeat in a row and remaining at one point, while Genesio’s men achieve their third success which allows them to reach 10. Five minutes on the clock and the The Emilians would immediately find the advantage with Dallinga, but the VAR intervenes by punishing his offside position on Orsolini’s throw which makes the first rossoblu cry of joy in vain. About ten minutes later, however, the French came close to taking the lead: corner from the left, Alexsandro headed it off and hit the post, then on the continuation of the action Meunier attempted a scissors kick which hit very badly.

At the end of the first half the guests managed to break the deadlock: incredible mistake in disengaging the Bologna rearguard, Mukau receives in the area and after a first blocked attempt he scores the 1-0 on the rebound. At the start of the second half, another carelessness from Ndoye risks giving Lille a second, but Skorupski is still attentive and good at blocking Pardo’s exit path. After the risk, Bologna tries to shake themselves off and in the 58th minute they have a great chance for an equaliser, which is wasted with a header by Dallinga who directs Freuler’s cross too centrally from two steps. However, it is the prelude to the 1-1 draw that arrives in the 63rd minute from a free kick: perfect free kick from Lykogiannis’ midfield, Lucumì’s right-footed volley deflected and everything was back in balance.

Dall’Ara’s joy was extinguished again just three minutes later, when Mukau scored his personal brace on an assist from Pardo, putting the guests back ahead. The Italian team seems to be feeling the pinch heavily, kept afloat only by an excellent Skorupski who saves on at least a couple of occasions from Sahraoui and Pardo. At the end the last efforts in search of a desperate equalizer are in vain and at the final whistle the French celebrate.
