The Shin Bet was prepared to secure Netanyahu’s testimony in court

The Shin Bet professionals are currently dealing with the issue of security around Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his testimony in court, ahead of the hearings that will take place next week. The Shin Bet has not yet made a decision on whether to increase the security system, yet the decision will be made in the coming days. This is because it is estimated that protesters from both sides of the barricade will arrive at the court – those who support the prime minister and those who want his resignation, the families of the abductees and interested parties – which indicates considerable pressure on the court.

As you may recall, earlier this week the court granted the Prime Minister’s request and postponed the trial for eight days. The court, presided over by Judges Rivka Friedman-Feldman, Moshe Bar-Am and Oded Shaham, stated in its decision that there was no substantial change in the circumstances that would justify the requested postponement. However, the judges chose to partially grant the request.
