In Männikö, there are conscripts in training, and unexpectedly we find ourselves in a situation where they face a real enemy without a chief or other leadership. Connections are lost. Is Finland at war?

Supervisor Aku Lohimiehen career continues with an action series, although the previous one Omertapackage – a movie and a TV series – fell short of all its goals. Credit still seems to be available.

I only got a preview of the first three episodes, so I don’t know how Finland will turn out in the end. And in the first half of the series, we don’t even know who we’re fighting against. Russian is spoken in Hanko, but on the other hand, Russia has offered to help.

In the first one in the episode, guns crackle, and the enemy approaches. The conscripts are stuck, what is going on or their income? Uncertainty is an effective tool in drama, but not for very long without clues.

Personal figures stand out from conscripts. Even a couple of women, it’s the 2020s. Even those with an immigrant background. And one American. In general, NATO is only compared to the United States in episodes.

Both central female characters, conscript Annika Berg (Julia Korpinen) and the President of the Republic Linnea Saaristo (Sara Soulie), presented with sex scenes. The president has nothing to do when duty calls and he has to throw a black leather horse over the party ball.

When the situation gets tense in Hankoniemi, the woman is the one who bursts into tears.

Prime minister Kai Lavakur (Pirkka-Pekka Petelius) spins in circles and emphasizes the importance of diplomacy, to which the strict president retorts that no diplomacy is used with them.

Would this really be the conversation that would be used in the situation? When the enemy is known to have already attacked. Well, Laavakuru is of course suspicious.

In the middle of the second period, the prime minister tells his assistant to contact the government. In episode three, the president puts on an army overall.

No one doesn’t seem to be particularly busy. The president and the prime minister are walking the deserted corridors arguing about this. The Prime Minister mocks the President’s tiktok updates.

In the middle of everything, the president has time to step aside into a room where the one handsome man who speaks English, with whom he had sex at the beginning of the series, is waiting. They have a sensitive conversation in which the president confides in his own feelings.

The president also has a personal reason to be worried about what is happening in Hanko.

At the same time, on the other side, captain Rami Ohrankämmen (Peter Franzén) has lost contact with his conscripts, and he is traveling in Hanko looking for his own family. Ohrankämmen has served in Afghanistan.

Somehow, one can only hope that Finnish productions would take on intellectual and artistic challenges that would be ahead of their time. The characters would be flesh and blood and not caricatures. In action scenes, you would have to be seriously scared.
