IRGC commander confirmed the death of a general in Syria and blamed Israel for it

The commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Major General Hossein Salami, confirmed the death of the Iranian military adviser in Syria, Brigadier General of the IRGC Xiomar Pourhashemi.

The Iranian Mehr agency publishes Salami’s statement, which claims that General Pourhashemi was killed in the Aleppo region “as a result of an attack by Israeli forces.”

This statement reads: “Due to the strategic defeats… of the Israeli regime on the Gaza and Lebanon fronts and the failure… of the hegemonic camp and the Zionists to achieve their goals, against the Islamic resistance front, terrorists… led by those defeated on the Gaza and Lebanese fronts Southern Lebanon, in recent days, brutal attacks on Syria have begun again… During these crimes… Israeli terrorist groups in the Aleppo region killed… a senior military adviser to Iran in Syria, IRGC General Xiomar Pourhashemi” (except for the name, quoted in the RIA Novosti translation).
