When is a hero a hero? About an American giant

Donald Trump would like to build a monument to himself right now, as powerful as Lincoln’s. There is an American who would be better suited: Benjamin Lay, who is only 1.20 meters tall.

It may well be that there will be a lot of heroes again in the coming months. Anyone who, like Donald Trump, sees themselves as a hero of an entire nation who wants to give the country back to the so-called ordinary people is happy to place themselves in the gallery of those to whom history has erected more or less enormous monuments. Now some of Trump’s heroes are men who didn’t exist, at least not in the way that Billy the Kid or Franklin D. Roosevelt existed.
