The LPGA closes its top tournaments to trans women

In hobby-level competitions, the participation criteria are different.

The LPGA, the women’s golf organization, is revising its gender-based eligibility rules. The LPGA said on their websitethat according to the new rules that will come into force at the beginning of next year, athletes registered as male at birth and who have gone through male puberty cannot compete in top-level competitions under the LPGA.

This means banning trans women from top competitions, including the women’s European Tour. In hobby-level competitions, the participation criteria are different.
