“YMCA”: Singer of the “Village People” allows Trump to have fun with his song

The “Village People” singer allows Donald Trump to have fun with the song “YMCA”. He also wants to sue anyone who calls it a “gay anthem” starting in January. A few more quick thoughts on this.

There’s no need to feel sorry for the song “YMCA” anymore, it’s already had enough. Sung for the first time by the group in 1978 Village Peoplewho, with their construction worker, cowboy and fetish cop costumes, looked like the dance floor crew of a perfectly good New York gay club. Number one around the world, gold and platinum awards, a party and karaoke hit for absolutely every carpet. Versions by the beer felt comedian Günter Willumeit (“LMAA”) and the pop stars Adam and the Ants („A.N.T.S.“).
