Lando Norris wins the Abi Dhabi Grand Prix, dominating the Yas Marina race from flag to flag and thus sealing McLaren’s victory of the constructors’ title. Nothing to do for Ferrari, even if it was the protagonist of a great comeback with Charles Leclerc, who started nineteenth and managed to finish third, preceded by his teammate, Carlos Sainz, in his last appearance driving the Red and still on the podium after that conquered in Las Vegas.
Oscar Piastri’s other McLaren was only tenth, affected by the accident at the start with Max Verstappen’s Red Bull – sixth at the checkered flag – and by the ten second penalty – imposed on both the Australian and the Dutchman – gaining a however a useful point in maintaining the twenty-one point advantage that divided the British team from Ferrari.
Fourth and fifth place, however, for Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell respectively, with the seven-time world champion bidding farewell after twelve years at the Silver Arrows, before joining Ferrari next season. Pierre Gasly’s Alpine was seventh, allowing the French team to take sixth place in the constructors’ standings, ahead of Haas, with Nico Hulkenberg finishing eighth, while Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin took ninth place at the close of the Grand Prix Award.
