The world’s funniest animal pictures have been chosen – a squirrel escaping into a tree hole won, the Finnish shot is the audience’s favorite

World funniest animal picture finder The Comedy Wildlife Photo Awards – the competition is over.

The Italian emerged as the winner Milko Marchetti with his shot depicting a squirrel trying to burrow into a tree. The name of the picture is Stuck Squirrelsuggesting that the squirrel appears as if stuck in a hole with its legs in the air. Marchetti says in the press release that the squirrel was sneaking away during the shooting, and the situation was over in a couple of seconds.

This year, more than 9,000 photos from 98 countries participated in the worldwide and open competition. More than 40 pictures were selected for the final.

There were a total of ten different categories in the competition, including categories for photographers under the age of 16, animal videos and audience favorites.

The public’s favorite series was won by a Finn I met Linnanmäki with a picture of a sea eagle ruffling its feathers.
