A call for donations to try to save the Fonderie de Bretagne and its 350 employees: “No one believes it”

Decisive day this Monday, for the Fonderie de Bretagne: a meeting between management, Renault and the State, in Bercy, will be able to decide on the future of the company and its 350 employees. A recovery plan is underway to enable diversification of activities by the end of 2025. Negotiations have begun to sell the factory to the German investment fund Private Assets, but Renault, which remains the main customer, refuses to guarantee the order volumes necessary for the sustainability of the Breton site based in Caudan (Morbihan). “The common objective today is that the Foundry, specialized in particular in the manufacture of steel and malleable cast iron parts for cars, can continue its recovery and diversification,” insists the director, Jérôme Dupont.
