Charlie Hebdo organized a drawing competition about God 10 years after the terrorist attack

Ten years after the terrorist attack on the editorial office of Charlie Hebdo magazine, the satirical publication has organized a caricature competition, which is meant to denigrate God.

This is reported by the news agency AFP.

The newspaper’s office in the center of Paris was attacked on January 7, 2015. 12 people died in the attack. The motive for the act is considered to be the satirical pictures published by the magazine, some of which were thought to be the prophet Muhammad.

As the anniversary approaches, the magazine’s editors have asked for the funniest and meanest drawings that denigrate God. The last day to send photos is December 18.

The magazine has been seen as a defender of freedom of speech, but it has also been accused of unnecessarily degrading religious practitioners and Islamophobia.
