Automotive in crisis. Ursus: "Let the rules change or it will be Caporetto"

“We asked to remove the obstacle of fines starting from January. We must do it immediately”. This was said by the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, from the Atreju stage, taking part in a debate on the automotive crisis, where among others the president of Confindustria Emanuele Orsini was also present .

“We understood before the others that the Caporetto of the European car. Because we do not have an ideological vision, but a pragmatic and responsible one on how to deal with it ecological transition and industrial policy” adds the minister – “In recent months European car manufacturers have been closing factories, announcing layoffs and sending workers into layoffs for not producing. Why is this happening? Because from January 1st one of the crazy rules of the European green deal comes into force which provides that car manufacturers must increasingly sell electric cars”.

“If car manufacturers do not reach the proportion required by the rules, they will pay fines. Having sold fewer electric cars than they were required to, and not being able to sell more, in order not to pay fines equal to 17 billion the industries have three solutions: produce and sell fewer endothermic cars, close the factories, sell Chinese cars in their own sales networks or buy the shares of electric producers such as Tesla”.
