Monza beaten 2-1, three very precious points for Lecce

Lecce does everything (or almost) and wins a precious victory with a view to survival: 2-1 for Marco Giampaolo’s team at Via del Mare, with goals from Tete Morente and Krstovic – who had previously missed a kick penalty – interspersed with Dorgu’s own goal. Monza did badly, last in the company of Venezia, while the Salento team momentarily tied Roma at 16.

Three minutes were enough for Lecce to take the lead, with Berisha’s suggestion for Morente, who slipped away from the Brianza defense and beat Turati. The Giallorossi’s advantage could become double in the 13th minute, following White’s hold against Dorgu which earned the penalty in favor of the Salento team, which was then not realized by Krstovic, who was hypnotized into a dive by Turati. Episode that shakes Monza: in the 23rd minute, cross from the left by Birindelli for the tap-in by Maldini, who cuts to the near post but puts the ball out for a possible 1-1.

However, the equalizer came in the 37th minute, due to a misunderstanding between Falcone and Dorgu, with the latter misplaying a ball in mid-air and heading past his goalkeeper, causing the sensational own goal of the momentary 1-1. Before the break, however, Lecce put their heads back: Pierotti did well to transform a complicated ball into an assist for Krstovic, who made up for the mistake from the spot with a nice right-footed turn.

Monza tries to get back up: Bianco’s goal is disallowed for offside, then he “dreams” of a penalty due to a handball from Guilbert who however is judged outside the area by VAR. Giampaolo and Nesta mix the cards: Lecce manages to manage the various opponent attacks and start again while the final forcing of the Brianza people is useless, increasingly in the danger zone; smiles Giampaolo, at the second victory of his management.
