Arab countries condemned Israel’s plans to expand its presence in the Golan Heights

The UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Iraq condemned Israel’s intention to expand its presence in the Golan Heights. The foreign ministries of these countries made corresponding statements.

The statements say that the Israeli government’s plans are contrary to international law, threaten further escalation and tension in the region, and undermine Syria’s chances of restoring its security and stability.

On December 15, the Israeli government unanimously approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to stimulate demographic growth in the Golan Heights. The cost of the project is more than 40 million shekels. We are talking about investments in the educational system, renewable energy sources, the creation of a student village, etc. The government declares its desire to double the population of the Israeli part of the Golan Heights. There was no mention of the occupation of any Syrian territories in this regard.
