The Ministry of Transport has decided to postpone the price increase for public transport planned for January 1, 2025. This was reported by the Kan Bet radio station.
According to the next public transport reform plan, fares on buses, trains and trams were to increase by 40% or more.
According to Can Bet, it was decided to postpone this step until at least April and raise prices as part of the next stage of the reform, which includes reducing transport prices in some areas and for groups entitled to benefits.
This measure is provided for in the draft state budget for 2025 and is explained by the need to bring the cost of travel in line with the OECD average.
