Reconciliation talks between Audi Brussels management and trade unions end in a fizzle

A mediator from the FPS Employment, Labor and Social Dialogue was also present at the meeting. “Unfortunately, this consultation meeting ended without a joint solution,” says D’hoore. “This means that our very fair offer, with which we will approach employees early next year, remains unchanged,” the spokesperson continues.

The joint trade union front – CNE, ACV Metea, BBTK and ABVV-Metaal – speaks of “a final, non-negotiable and strongly conditional offer”. This would involve an additional 5,000 euros gross per employee, linked to conditions such as the obligation to sign a protocol agreement “immediately”, to organize a consultation of employees at the FPS Employment before Friday afternoon, “which is unfeasible in practice” and the exclusion of long-term ill.

“It was once again impossible for us to negotiate in this way, under pressure and without having time to think, calculate and discuss. Moreover, the exclusion of long-term sick people is unacceptable discrimination for us,” it said.

After the unions rejected management’s sixth proposal for a joint social plan for employees last week, management announced that it would approach the employees itself. In addition to the statutory severance payment, Audi will also offer employees a company bonus, which is calculated based on the employee’s seniority.
