Actress Marisa Paredes has died – known for, among other things, the film All About My Mother

Spanish director Pedro Almodovarin an actor known from movies Marisa Paredes has died, the Spanish Film Academy said on Tuesday. Paredes was 78 years old.

Paredes started acting at the age of 14. He acted in more than 75 films during his career. Among Almodovar’s works, he was involved in films, among others All about my mother, My secret flower and High interest rates.

Paredes was also involved with other well-known directors, such as the Italian Roberto Benignin and Mexican Guillermo del Toron in the movies. He received the Spanish Academy of Cinema’s most prestigious recognition, the Goya Award, for his life’s work in 2018.

Paredes was the president of the Swedish Film Academy in 2000–2003.
