President Putin held a year-end press conference today

Mr. Putin held a year-end press conference today, answering domestic and foreign affairs issues and using AI technology to handle questions for the first time.

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a year-end press conference at 12:00 on December 19 (4:00 p.m. Hanoi time). This is an opportunity for Russian leaders to answer questions from people from across the country as well as respond to questions from domestic and international journalists.

This is the first year Russia uses Sberbank’s GigaChat artificial intelligence (AI) technology to handle questions. The Kremlin emphasized that before starting the press conference, President Putin will get an overview of all questions sent.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that he had received more than 1.7 million questions for President Putin through all channels. Mr. Peskov said that in the past, without AI technology to support them, they had to manually classify questions throughout the year.

Mr. Peskov said some Western journalists were allowed to attend the event but Russian journalists were expected to be the ones asking most of the questions, mainly the Kremlin task force, “who accompanied the President during the event.” activities throughout the year”.

Last year, Mr. Putin’s press conference lasted 4 hours and he answered 67 questions, including 26 questions from the people, 33 questions from the media, including questions from Turkish and Chinese journalists. China, USA, France and the Republic of Serbia.

The Russian leader’s press conference in 2013 was record long, when he responded to questions for 4 hours and 47 minutes. During the 2015 press conference, Mr. Putin received the most questions with 3.25 million questions.

The Kremlin sees the President’s year-end press conference as an opportunity to convey a message to the world, clarifying Russia’s stance. This year’s press conference took place when the Russia-Ukraine conflict is about to enter its fourth year and the parties have not found a common voice to resolve it.
