Boeing wins billion-dollar order in Turkey

All in all, this concerns a contract with a list value of up to 36 billion dollars. However, companies usually negotiate significant discounts. The devices would be delivered from 2028.

This is the largest order in Pegasus history. This is a boost for the troubled Boeing: in the past, the Turkish low-cost airline mainly turned to Airbus – the European competitor of the American aircraft manufacturer. According to the fleet information on its website, Pegasus currently has just 16 Boeing aircraft and 94 Airbus aircraft. The European aircraft manufacturer also has an outstanding order for 53 A321s.

The development and production of the 737 MAX 10 has been delayed for years and the aircraft type has not yet been certified. Boeing expects to receive such approval in the course of 2025.

As a result of the delays, airlines United Airlines and Virgin Australia, among others, have already canceled orders. Earlier this month, the Bloomberg news agency reported that Qatar Airways would also like to cancel orders with Boeing.
