Serie A club announces that it will install synthetic grass in the arena

Atlético-MG announced that it will install synthetic grass in Arena MRV. The team will be the third in Série A, alongside Palmeiras and Botafogo, with artificial pitch for Brasileirão 2025.

“The change aims to maintain the quality of the playing field throughout the year, even allowing events to be held. Therefore, the choice was for 100% synthetic turf”, explained Galo.

The club also informed that “the installation should begin in the next few weeks and the objective is for the field to be ready for play at the start of the Brazilian Championship”. The cost will be around R$12 million, according to a study carried out by Galo this season, as reported by ge.com. The floor supplier will also be the same as other Brazilian stadiums.

The MRV Arena, it is worth remembering, was opened in April 2023, but suffered from several problems throughout the period. In addition to the constant changes of pitch, the venue was also the target of complaints from fans due to “blind spots” and poor acoustics.
