A Jewish girls’ school in Toronto was hit for the third time this year.

On Friday, December 20, Toronto police responded to an emergency call at Beis Chaya Mushka, a Jewish elementary school for girls, where unknown assailants opened fire. The shooting was reported to police around 2:30 a.m., at which time the school was empty, The Canadian Jewish News reports.

According to an eyewitness, the criminals fired pistols at the school and then fled the scene in a car. The Beis Chaya Mushka school has been shelled for the third time in a year: the first incident was recorded in May, the second in October, on Yom Kippur.

During the day, the school, which belongs to the Chabad movement, is guarded, but the management of the educational institution considered it unnecessary to hire security guards at night. According to Rabbi Yaakov Vidal, this decision may be reconsidered.
