This is how Tiger Woods instructs his 15-year-old son

Father and son participate in a race together in Florida.

Golf legend Tiger Woods48, says that his 15-year-old son Charlie beat him on a round of golf for the first time. Although only in a round of nine holes, reported CNN According to the PGA Tour.

“Yeah, he beat me by nine holes,” Woods told reporters on Friday.

“He has yet to beat me in 18 holes. That day is coming, I’ll try to prolong it as long as possible.”

The father-son duo played at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando ahead of this weekend’s PNC Championship. The tournament is Woods’ public return to golf after successful back surgery in September.

It will be the fifth time Team Woods has played in the two-day, 36-hole event featuring 20 major champions and their families.

Known the player’s son may not have it easy, comparisons with his father may come. But dad has given tips for that.

“I remind him to be himself, Charlie is Charlie. Yes, he is my son, he will have that last name in sports, but I want him to be himself and his own person. We always focus on that and encourage him to create his own name, carve his own path and take his own journey.”

According to his father, the boy has succeeded excellently in that.

According to Woods, the boy has grown and become stronger and faster. So the father hopes that the son takes care of the drives and putts in the joint competition and the father can be more in the background.

The 15-time major tournament winner has not played since July. He has made just 13 starts on the PGA Tour over the past four seasons and completed the full four rounds just twice since suffering serious leg injuries in a car accident in 2021.
